Drum & Bugle Corps
|The Blue Devils, Concord, CA
BD Performing Arts offers young men and women between the ages of 8 and 21 quality educational and performance experiences in the areas of musical and dance performance. Founded in 1957, BDPA’s objective is to develop personal character through challenging physical, emotional, mental, and social activities while promoting the values of dedication, hard work, and commitment to a team effort. Over 450 young people currently participate in BDPA programs, and over 8,000 young people, in 2,000 families, have been served by the BD Performing Arts organization since 1957.
Entirely community-funded, the direction of BDPA is guided by a dedicated and unified effort of volunteer parents and a professional teaching staff, who work in close harmony with the young members to create and maintain a proud, responsible, youth organization. All instruments, instruction, and costumes are provided to participants who pay a modest annual participation fee. BDPA currently offers seven youth programs:
|The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps, Tempe, AZ
In 2001, The Academy Brass & Percussion Ensemble was formed to give some of Arizona’s finest young musicians an introduction to the incredibly unique activity of drum and bugle corps. Over the course of three summers, the young group of 52-60 performed for several local events and had taken the opportunity to perform in exhibition at its home show, the Southwest Corps Connection. In 2004, the group added the final element of the color guard, was accepted as a DCI sanctioned unit, made the name change to The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps and began competing for the first time. In 2006, the corps had grown to 135 members and competed for the first time in Drum Corps International World Championships in Madison, Wisconsin where they earned the title of Division II World Champion. 2007 marked their first year competing in Division I, now called World Class, where they continue to compete today. In 2009, The Academy was named the official drum and bugle corps of the City of Tempe.
|Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps, Diamond Bar, CA
Pacific Crest began in 1993 with 33 students. Today Pacific Crest is one of North America’s most respected performing arts programs, and touches the lives of 2,500 students each year. At the heart of the program is the Drum and Bugle Corps, one of the nation’s foremost ensembles of its kind.Pacific Crest is made up of 150 performers and their summer season includes a two-month tour of 25 performances throughout the United States. their program attracts students who want to perform at the highest levels of the marching arts. Pacific Crest has also appeared in cinema broadcasts, on television shows and commercials, and in world-class venues, including the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Rose Bowl, and Hollywood Bowl.

|Horizon, Midland, TX
Horizon Drum and Bugle Corps is a marching music education organization made up of young men and women between the ages of 15 and 22. Horizon was founded in 2014 as Western Vanguard, an organization dedicated to allow the local musicians to perform during the summer months, outside of there regular band programs. In 2016 Western Vanguard underwent a massive remodel changing the name of the organizationto Horizon Drum and Bugle Corps.
